The bench frame has points along it to enable you to strap your bike to the bench, if you needed maximum stability from movement.
Part of the table top can be unscrewed to allow for easier rear wheel removal

Details

The bench skeleton is made from 50x25mm box section British manufactured mild steel. The top frame and rear lifting leg have 3mm thick walls for strength and the rest is made from stock with 2.5mm thick walls, this helps maintain the rigidity and keep the weight down. This is all finished in a blue Hammerite paint finish.

The lifting device is a semi-pro two tonne capacity hydraulic jack modified to reduce friction on the frame and make the lifting operation easier and there is a safety stop at each of the 3 heights so that the bench is not relying on the jack to support it whilst the bike is being worked on.

The top is manufactured from 18mm thick hardwood faced exterior grade plywood and finished with 3 coats of exterior grade varnish to give a resilient finish. This is a more forgiving surface than steel for polished/chrome items less fear of scratching.

The side rails are made from 40x40mm angle. Their purpose is to add strength to the sides of the plywood top and to provide anchor points for safety straps when fixing a bike to the bench. They also stop your nuts, bolts and other bits falling on the floor!

*The top is standard at 24 inch (600mm) wide and 84 inch (2100mm) long, however this can be as narrow as 19 inch (475mm) and as wide as 28 inch (532mm) and can go to 96 inch (2440mm) in length. Please specify the size you'd prefer when you order.
